...an older gentleman stopped me and exclaimed:

"That's love! That's love! Oh, it's so good for the bonding, she is going to love you so much, she's going to be your best mate!"

How lovely!

What?! Some people are so fricking ignorant!

Another man cooed over DD and was telling me how he carried all of his children around too. I think you are right about forgetting they are fathers!

That's such a lovely comment

I have ds2 in a sling, under a babywearing coat (and ds1 either walking or in pushchair). Am always getting comments, usually 'Oh! There's another one in there!' (pointing at coat) .

One woman said how lovely it was that I was carrying him in sling and then, I kid you not, said 'that's one thing we've learned from the [racist N-word, or its German equivalent]' .

Bump I think I'd have burst into tears

lol at kangaroo

When my DC were tiny, whenever DH went out, he'd put them in the sling - sooo many women cooing over him, he loved it

I'd just get backache

I was stopped by a gang of young-ish boys when DD was tiny and hidden in a ring sling. When they found out there was a baby asleep in the 'bag' they thought it was really cool. (Or maybe that's why our area has such a high teenage pregnancy rate -- people like babies! )
