Hair pulling and biting

My 18 month old is being such a pain. She's started biting me and pulling my hair. She might be teething, but I'm also sure there's a behavioral element to it, like when she's cross that she's not getting her own way. But the hair pulling is definitely on purpose - she looks me right in the eye.
How do I deal with it? I try not to give a huge reaction and usually ask her to be gentle and then put her down and tell her that she's hurt me if she doesn't stop.
How do you handle hair pulling and biting? Sometimes she's had such a handful, I'm worried she's going to pull it out!

Dr Sears has some tips here. Hope you manage to find something that works Flowers

Solidarity, OP! My 18 month old pinches, slaps and hair pulls. Sometimes out of frustration, sometimes just for a reaction or for attention. He's my 4th child. He's very loving and affectionate otherwise. He's the only one of my children to have done this. If he does it to me, I say 'no' sharply and put him down (if on my lap) or walk away from him, to remove the attention he wants. If he does it to the children, I pick him up, put him in the travel cot/playpen, and cuddle the child he has hurt, so he sees them getting the attention, not him. I hope this phase passes soon.

Thank you! I'm glad I'm not the only one... This is sort of what I'm already doing, so maybe it's just a case of perseverance!
