Hi, I am currently weaning my 7 month old from being bottle fed. I have been using ellas kitchen, this was fine at 6 months using the more blander foods such as just the vegetable selections. However now I can join to his diet things like spag bol or bangers and mash etc he seem to just bork and retch until he throws it back up. He is completly fine with fruits an yoghurts. Can anyone give me suggestions on what I can do to to help him keep food down or any alternatives I can try. I feel so bad for him that I can not at the moment find anything he likes and he looks at me like I'm torturing him getting him to try new things.

He's just getting used to the textures. Stop buying the pouches, as they're far too smooth. Make your own purées at home and just make them progressively more lumpy. And keep offering him finger foods too.

Yes I agree, instead of purées just mash your food a bit with the back of a fork and let him pick it up .

If you have a look through the old threads in the weaning section there'll be some old ones on retchers & vomiters Wink
