Breastfeeding and boob job.

Does anybody here have a boob job and breastfed? Did it effect them?

I had my first baby 9 months ago and my boobs have gone from being my favourite body part to my least. I won't even remove my bra I front of my partner. I'm 9 months pp and still breastfeeding, but absolutely despise how they look and it's getting me down.

I really want a boob job, however this is only my first baby and we want 2/3. But I just can't imagine hating my body this much for the next few years until we're done having children,.

If I have them done and then breastfeed again- will it ruin them?

You might be surprised how things will settle back to normal once you finish breastfeeding, I was seriously lopsided (like I would say 3-4 cup sizes in the difference) and it was inconceivable to me that they would ever even out again but they did. Of course, many more will say that their breasts never go back to normal.

I got implants many moons ago, breastfeeding didn't really affect them....if I was being critical I would say ever so slightly saggier but that just makes them even more natural looking in my eyes. I was very surprised and happy by how well they coped with all the body changes.

I just have one child and breastfed almost exclusively for 5.5 months and then mix fed for a couple months after that. I would be inclined to wait until after all pregnancies if you do want to get the surgery. I'm sure most surgeons will advise waiting if you are planning more children because you really don't know how pregnancy and breastfeeding will affect them and you don't want to go through surgery only to be disappointed a couple years later.

ALSO, I don't know if you've done research in to BII but I would recommend reading up on it and being informed on the risks. Like I said, I got mine a long time ago when I was just 21 and all the research at the time said implants were safe, I don't think I'd go through with it now knowing everything that has come out since then.

i had a boob job after my first baby 12 years ago. I’ve since had a baby last year and breast fed for 4 months without any problems. However my boobs were ginormous when the milk came in and I mean it when I say I looked like I’ve had those huge implants that ladies get in America! I couldn’t wait to stop breastfeeding so they would at least go back to normal size. They have since sagged with the implant but look ok and im Not bothered about them. Personally I would have all your kids then get a boob job!xxx

I think about this a lot too. I’m 13 months into feeding DS2. I fed his older brother for 18 months. All in all my boobs have taken a battering and frankly they look like oranges in socks on my chest. We’re 50/50 about having a third and I’ve decided to wait until I’m definitely never going to bf another baby again, but as soon as I can I’m getting my boobs done. I can live with the stretch marks, c section pouch, anything else, but I can’t imagine living with these boobs for another 40-50 odd years. I personally wouldn’t get them done until I was definitely done having kids but it’s your choice!

Thank you for the responses, it looks like I'll be better off waiting until I'm done having children.

Very annoying as I am no where near ready for anymore and think it will be a fair few years of ugly boobs!

I had mine done about 5 years ago. I was told for some people it affects breastfeeding and for some it doesn't. I remember though that they ask if you're planning to have children in the next x amount of years and I wasn't so had them done. I'm now 27 weeks pregnant and they have grown pretty big and are covered in veins. Not sure how they will look after I have attempted to breastfeed and whether I will even be able to.

I feel you OP, My boobs also looks like a pair of socks after breastfeeding for 11 months. But for me its not my biggest insecurity. Mine is the excess skin on my belly. I've managed to loose all the baby weight and I'm even smaller now then I was pre-baby but the excess skin just sits on top of my belly and like you I wont even take my shirt off in front on DH and I desperately want a tummy tuck but I know its a waste of time as I want another but I'm not ready for another right now so who knows how long ill have to wait. But one thing I do know is, I'm definitely getting that tummy tucked in once and for all even if I have to wait a few years.
