Baby acne?

4 week old has developed a mountain of red spots all over his face and forehead. They look sore but he doesn't seem to be itching. He's been a bit grumpy with tummy ache but that seems unrelated. The spots are like the picture below. Pretty much all over his face cheeks eyelids and forehead. Baby acne? My doctor was absolutely useless and said doesn't sound like anything to worry about but didn't give me any indication of what it could be on the phone.

Prime time for baby acne! It doesn't last very long.

Looks very similar to what my baby on their neck, upper back and chest, especially if they are raised bumps with slight whiteness in the middle. Doctor called it erythema toxicum neonatorum. No treatment required but it did stick about for a few weeks where as everything I read said one week or so. It also went then came back.
