Hi ladies hoping for some advice on what I can do with my boys!

I have two sons, one 3 and one 5. I’m feeling a bit hopeless at the moment, time at home is really difficult as they never stop fighting.

Often, it’s physical fighting where I have to separate them! I know some disagreements with siblings is normal, but this is constant. I’ve tried naughty step, no dessert after tea etc but it just isn’t working. If I sit them down to paint or draw they will take from each other or ruin the other ones artwork and then start fighting. The same when they are playing with toys. The only time they are happy and get along is outside the house which obviously is not possible 24/7.

Thought it important to note There is no violent TV and they don’t play video games.

any advice please?!

Don’t take sides (“let little Johnny have that, he’s younger than you”, etc)

Strict rules re who owns what, pencils, paper etc. Forget sharing for now! - overrated anyway. And then if the rule is broken that makes it easy for you to step in and know who’s in the wrong. Good fences make good neighbours!

Plenty of exercise outdoors.

Plenty of one on one time with each child so they don’t need to compete for your attention.

Praise behaviour where they are kind to each other.
