Anyone bought school shoes from Deichmann?

Unfortunately the good shoe shop we have used for years for school shoes has vlosed down.

We seem to have a very limited choice now of where to buy good quality leather children's shoes.

We do have a Deichmann's near us. Hush Puppies seem to be one of the leather shoes they stock. Does anyone know how Hush Puppies stand up for durability?

Generally we've bought Clarks and Startrite before but it's for secondary school now so being on trend is going to also be important.

I'd be very careful, mine wouldn't be seen dead in Hush Puppies, Clarks or Start Rite.

DDs are going into y7 and have worn DM shoes this year, and want the same for September.

deichman is fine.
own brand quality similar to supermarket but you can find some popular brands.

with shoes a good fit should always come before brand/style.

I was very cross with the Hush Puppy shoes I bought my 6 year old. The patent peeled off after two months.

Oh dear. Sounds like I need another plan.

Possibly Next - although I'm not sure what they stock.

I'll look at Deichmann but I do want better quality than general supermarket type shoes.

I get my son's school shoes in Deichman and they have been great. (He is 7) I have had plenty of shoes from there myself with no issues too. I also get my son's sandals and trainers from there.

Deichman are fine, as are next. I've actually found sports direct stock some kickers etc which are suitable too (ie proper shoes not trainer type).

I bought my two hush puppies at the start of last year, they're the only school shoes that have lasted and could easily be worn this year again tbh if it wasn't for the kids both going up a size.
