Hi I have a just turned one year old and he will play with a stick/spoon/spatula for hours. (Basically anything long and stick like)Like will crawl around for hours holding it while playing with other toys for 0.2 seconds😂and gets very upset if you take it. Is it normal to be so fixed on an object🤷🏻‍♀️Obv I could take them all out of sight and he will play with other toys. Is it normal?he started nursey and I don't see any the other children doing this🤷🏻‍♀️Thanks

Our DS is three now and seemingly "normal". For his first birthday we bought him the ikea kitchen and he was fixated with the spatula - wouldn't put it down! I'd say nothing to worry about, but I'm no professional. Sounds fine to me though 🙂

Oh yes definitely normal! We went to the Playbase at the Army Museum and 1YO DS carried a toy broom around for the entire session and was quite upset when it was time to go. He wasn’t the only young toddler doing it either.
