I have to do two pickups at the same time - can I have some feedback as to what is acceptable in MN land?

One child aged 7 finishes their activity at school at exactly the same time as the other aged 4, except the 4 year old's is just round the corner (one road to cross). Also have ds aged 9.

Would you let ds meet the 7 year old and walk round the corner to meet you?

Yes absolutely, if DS and 7-year-old were quite sensible and there was not too much traffic.

How long is it to walk between the two?
How busy is the road?
What time will it be (to judge how dark for example)?

Could the 9yo meet the 7yo and then wait for you outside the school or on the other side of the road, if busy?

Hmm, one road is quite busy

4.00, so getting dark-ish. It's about a 5 minute walk.

That's a good suggestion hula, maybe I'll try that first. Gawd, I used to walk home from school for 0.25 miles when I was 6!! How times change.

Yes--assuming you're happy about the road-crossing skills. I think children like responsibility and feel good about being asked to do these things. My two were thrilled when I started letting them go off briefly to another shop together while I was in the supermarket. They very rarely do anything that makes me sorry I trusted them. They were about the ages of your children when we started doing this.

Woyld the 7 year old be ok to wait till you came. I have the same problem and I get my 7 year old to wait the extra 5 mins. Then again I don't have a 9 yr old so don't know if I would take that option.
