Some of you may recognise me from my constant moaning about DS2. But I am feeling really sorry for myself at the moment. He is such hard work. He is a terrible sleeper. Hardly eats in the day but makes up for it at night . He's very demanding during the day and wants to be held/entertained a lot.

I am exhausted and in my darkest moments wonder why we even had him at all. DS1 and DD sleep really well and are able to be quite independednt so my life would be getting easy now if I only had them.

I do really love DS2, but I need to know life will get better because I think I am teetering on teh edge of insanity!!!

Massive apologies for anyone who is TTC I know I should be counting my blessings, actually I am ashamed to writing this at all.

I lived in a bubble for 6 years

lol beetroot.

I am assuming that these high demand babies grow up to at least win the noble peace prize. There must be some compensation, surely!

Thanks charliemama although this one was completely planned (had a mc before as well) I am still scared about how I will cope with 3 under 5 with no help from family.

The lack of sleep is one of the worst bits, DD2 was still waking 5 times in the night at a year, I went on boob refusal (at night) we had one rough night and she has slept through ever since. Getting a full nights sleep means you can cope with anything during the day. Your DS2 really sounds like my DD2, she got a lot better once she was walking and able to play herself (well thats when the constant fighting with DD1 began) but hey you can't have everything.

This time next year when I am feeling the same way as you do now come back and tell me how great things are for you now

I will do that sweetkitty. And hopefully you can reply 'Oh no my 3rd has slept through the night since birth!!!'

I do have to remind myself how much I wanted DS2 and that without him there would be a gap in our family. If I hadn't had him I would be looking at the 4 people i know with a 3rd with insane jealousy (mind you there's sleep and lie gurgling!!!)

I am considering boob refusal once his 6th tooth finally finishes coming through and he recovers from his cold!!!

Refusing to feed her in the night was the best thing I could have done, it was past her first birthday and DP stayed with her when she woke, first night she cried for 50 minutes, second night 10 after that slept through. I think once they realise that they aren't getting milk when the wake they learn to settle themselves.

Best of luck and you know it will get better x
