Is DS a high needs baby?

Hi mamas
My DS is 5mos. We love him.
However he can be difficult.
It seems that he is crying constantly. He has usually a very short period of time in the mornings where he is in a great mood and smiley and all but the rest of the time it's whining and tears.
He hates being put down to lay, sit or tummy time. If I put him down to play he might tolerate it for 5 minutes before crying.
We got him one of those skip hop bouncy things because I thought maybe he's bored of tummy time qnd would have fun. He did at the store. At home, it's a different story. 5-10mins and he's crying.
He does not like his bouncer, his crib, stroller or a car seat.
I feel like the only time he is not crying is when he is feeding or being carried around.
I dont know what to do anymore. It's driving me completely crazy.
Is this just an age thing that will pass or so I have a high needs baby??? I recently came across an article that talks about high needs babies and he seems to apply.
I don't remember him being this way before. Luke of course he cried he's a baby but now it feels like it's all day long.
Is my baby broken? How do I fix him?

Normal, sorry 😬. Hope you find a way to “fix” him soon

You've got unreasonable expectations - entertaining himself for 5min at 5 months is pretty good!

Aren’t all babies high needs?!

Your baby is definitely not broken. My daughter is 4 months old and is similar in that she’s in a great mood in the morning and if we don’t get her naps right she gets progressively less happy during the day because she gets over tired.

She will go on her mat/do tummy time for about 10 minutes at a time but only if I’m down on the floor with her.

She goes in her bouncer for 5 or 10 minutes at a time provided she can see me.

Most of the day I have to carry her around. She’ll grow out of it.

Thanks ladies

I know all babies are challenging.

I am glad others babies are doing the same thing my baby is. I don't really have a someone to ask so I am going to the internet for answers and as you can imagine the expectations they are setting out are quite out there.

There was definitely a change at around 4mos mark as he was not like this prior. He could lay around in his play gym for 30 mins easily. Now he has no patience and gets irritable really quickly. I know he is going through a lot of development plus teething right now.

Just wanted to hear that this is ok.
