Smart Trike Hell!

We’ve bought a smart trike from a friend of a friend and we cannot get the front wheel to lock so it is controlled by the adult pushing it. I’m wondering if this is why it was sold!!!

Does anyone have any tips or is this a flaw in the smart trikes?

Our little boy loved “steering” it but we didn’t manage to actually get anywhere just in a circle as he isn't old enough to properly steer it yet.

Can't you just push it more firmly in the other direction? I think that's what we did.

Sorry if this is a stupid comment, but on ours we had to switch the wheel around the other way as opposed to flicking a lock switch. Yours may be different though so apologies if that is a pointless statement 😁

Mine is a bit old now, but there's a little buttony thing on the side of the plastic mudguard thingy. You have to lift the front of the trike clear of the ground, depress the button and turn the wheel fully round, and it should click?

Thanks. We've switched the wheel round but it stays locked for a short while and then just veers off in another direction. I will have another go whilst my little boy is in it as maybe trying to do it without him in it isn't working either. It's seems like such a good little trike apart from this so hoping we can get it to work

Mine is actually hideous to steer as well, I don't know that it's to do with the front wheel though? Maybe it is and I just didn't twig!

I think we've managed to master it. You have to hold the handle on the edges and sort of lean to which ever side you want to turn. It's working well so far. We have to straighten the front wheel every now and then but other than that it's all good 😊

A bit late but if anyone’s looking like me, I’ve just figured this out, pull this part up & it lets them steer he handles but it doesn’t actually do anything
