Hello so my 3.5month old baby has a heart condition which means gaining weight is hard anyway and for a list of reasons he cannot take a bottle so is exclusively breastfed. Well he projectile vomits once every 1-2 days and it’s a lot! I always keep him upright after feedings too.

he has been in hospital for it but they couldn’t find anything wrong and said it was reflux but this is huge volumes of vomit and I was wondering if anyone else experienced this?

i cry every time he vomits as I know it will effect his weight gain which we need to go up for his heart surgery so any help or advise please!!

Babies vomit! They have immature digestive systems and sometimes they eat more than they need and it all comes back up! It's nothing to be concerned about.

Also, it's worth bearing in mind that it always looks like a huge quantity, but it's not actually that much. Try pouring 10ml of water onto a onesie, it looks like so much but it's only 1/3oz.

Thanks but this is a large volume. He vomits 3-6 chugs per vomit and it was measured in hospital as we could catch it in vomit bowls and it was always 50mls at least.

Were the doctors concerned?
