Quickly developing rash on toddler

I was asked to pick my son up from nursery this morning as he had developed a rash and been sick.

There was absolutely nothing on him when I dropped him off at around 9am and he was his usual self. Nursery also said there was nothing there at the morning nappy change at around 10/10:30 but they spotted it at around 12 and called me after he was sick too. In the space of a few hours he now has a rash like this on his back, arms and legs (not much on his front so far though).

He does have rashes when he has viral infections but not seen one develop this quickly before and they always seem more pin prickly if that makes sense? Whereas this seems a bit more bunched together/bigger spots.

It is blanching and he still seems okay in himself and hasn't been sick since. Hold off calling the doctor?

I'd phone 111 and they'll talk you through

Could it be an allergic reaction? Had they been outside to play? New suncream? If he's little any chance he could have put something outdoorsy in his mouth?

I would phone GP or pop up to local pharmacy for advice.

Probably a viral rash but pop him to the pharmacy for a quick once over, they’ll be able to advise if he needs medical attention.
