How do you hear child on loo?

Super odd question but how do people hear their children when they are on the loo and need help?
I’m moving into my new loft room soon 2 floors above the main bathroom. My oldest child only usually needs me at night for a bum wipe (on occasion) and Im worried I won't hear him.
I really don’t want to put a baby monitor in the bathroom (and there are no plugs in the hall or rooms close enough).
This is a daft question but I wonder if anyone has a good solution so any ideas welcome. Buzzer? Bell? Megaphone? 😀

Personally I think if you can't hear your kid call out in the night, you're too far away from them. With kids that small I think you really need to be on the same floor.

Literally never happened with either of my two, kids don't usually poo at night and I had them wiping their own bums very shortly after potty training! Nightly baths were enforced while they were still a bit slap dash.

My daughter is 6, only 2 rooms away from me and rarely gets up for the toilet but I still have a monitor in case she needs me.

You don't mention how old they are it I agree with the pp if you can't hear them you're too far away.

Do you have an en suite in the loft room? Could you get him to use your bathroom instead ?

I'd not feel comfortable being 2 floors away from DC. You mention your oldest, do you have younger DC sleeping on the same floor as eldest?

But to answer your question, I think that getting an electrician to put a plug socket outside the bathroom so you can use a monitor would be money very well spent.

Will you not be on the same floor as your child? I couldn't do that even when my kids were older! I would ask them to use a bathroom upstairs at night.

A wireless doorbell?

A wireless doorbell?

This is a good idea

Thanks for your comments, I might try a wireless doorbell @bloodywhitecat
