Can you love your child too much?!

Do any other Mums or Dads feel this way?
I honestly love my baby girl soooo much it hurts, I miss her so intensely if I’m not with her & often have upsetting thoughts about something awful happening to her like illness or accident or considering how she would cope if sometuawful happened to me.. I feel like these are really intrusive thoughts & I try to push them to the side but honestly sometimes it just makes me cry my eyes out & want to go grab her from her peaceful sleep in her cot & hold her all night long!
Does this feeling ever get easier? I just feel so blessed I can’t believe she’s ours & that this is all too good to be true.

OP here!
Thank you all so so much for responding & for your reassurance. LO turned 1 last week & I have returned to work in the last couple of months so perhaps I’m just adjusting to her change from baby to toddler & the struggling a bit with the new independence she’s finding - still amazing to watch & experience but I can’t protect her 24/7 & am having to share responsibility of her with family & nursery.
Will try not pushing the thoughts aside & really considering what those thoughts mean. Worth mentioning they don’t restrict my life & ive not had any where I’ve harmed her. But, appreciate the link with MH postpartum so will keep an eye on the frequency.
Currently holding LO while she snoozes on me and loving every second, she’s just amazing :,)

I can't imagine ever doing/feeling anything like that unprovoked but I think it might be partly a personality thing. From the responses here it seems like it is normal, who knew...

I haven’t experienced this (adore my kids but don’t feel as you describe). Is it causing you problems? What are your other relationships like?
