Paracetamol use in early pregnancy

Anyone have any experience or words of wisdom?

Im roughly 7 weeks pregnant and came down with a nasty bout of covid on Tuesday. High fever chills aches diarrhoea barking cough etc etc

have been taking the max dose of paracetamol since Tuesday to keep my fever down. It was 39.5 first couple days now about 38.5.
My doctor basically said it’s better to take paracetamol than it is to have a fever in early pregnancy. I know they say it’s safe, but I can’t help but worry. It doesn’t feel right taking so much medicine in early pregnancy.

A doctor has told you it is safe and explained why. What extra reassurance are you hoping to get from non medical professionals on the internet?

I hope you feel better soon.

It is fine to take paracetamol during all stages of pregnancy, but if you're concerned please speak to your midwife for reassurance

I was told the same thing in early pregnancy. It's only paracetamol, if it was dangerous they'd be telling you repeatedly not to, as they do with ibuprofen :)
