Night time nappy leaks

Lexi334 · 22/06/2022 13:46

19months old and around 13kg.

Currently wears pampers size 5+ in the day and pampers size 6 nappy pants overnight. Has been this way for a couple of months with no issues. The last 3 nights he’s been wet in the morning. It’s leaking right round the leg.

Any recommendations for more absorbing night nappies? I don’t know if going up a size will just make the fit too big? As it is the size 6 are for 15+kg.

This happened to us. It was just trial and error! We bought loads of brands and used the ones that worked. It was pampers (the light blue packet one)

Have you tried aldi nappies? both my 2yr and 4yr (night time) old wear them. Our eldest uses the 6+ and they fit really well. They do have a pant version but I have tried them.

@SaundersE126 @sunflowerandivy We’ve tried quite a few brands and Pampers were the only ones that didn’t leak for us. We used Aldi size 1 & 2 then everything after that has leaked with him. Haven’t tried their nappy pants though so I’ll maybe give them a go!

Have you tried changing him before you go to bed? Would he sleep through?

sunflowerandivy · 22/06/2022 21:12

Yes I found that when my DD was in a deep sleep I could change her without her waking up

We always yes pampers in at least the next size up for night times. It doesn't make them too big in our experience despite the KG weight bracket being wrong. So maybe try 6+. Worth a shot and I suspect it would solve the problem 🤞🏼

*use

Sometimes when they've had a growth spurt or just changed shape a bit the nappies that worked previously just stop working as well and you have to switch brands for a while. It is annoying!

I don't think nappy pants hold as much water.
In my opinion Naty nappies are the best premium brand and Boots are the best on the cheaper end of the scale.
I have been a childminder for 35 years so have changed quite a few nappies. X

Have you tried 5+ instead of size 6? The + means they're more absorbent (so 5 and 5+ nappies are the same size but 5+ hold more). The size 6 might be too big.

We found this with Pampers and Aldi, Tesco by far the best.

We had this problem too with DS, actually found Pampers nappy pants were not a great fit on him and gaped around the legs. We tried a few different brands and now use Morrisons size 6 nappy pants which have been much better. He is a very wriggly sleeper though and also sleeps on his front which can lead to more leaks I think.
