6 week old sleep patterns

Hi,
My 6 week old has roughly had the same sleeping pattern for a few weeks now, in that he tends to sleep for about 6 hours from 6pm to midnight. We feed on demand but he's been sleeping this long stretch just naturally, then he'll be about every 3 hours between this.
Last night though he suddenly changed, he was up at 9pm wanting a feed, then again at midnight, then about 2.30, 4.30 and then 6, which I've just put him down from.
Just wondering if it's normal to suddenly want more feeds during the night and is he likely to be the same from now on? Or is it maybe a growth spurt and he suddenly needs fed more often now but will maybe go back to longer sleeps inbthe future? He isn't finishing his bottles though, so he's not really taking much more with the extra feeds.

Sleeping patterns change so much at this stage. My baby is 8 months and has gone through so many phases of good and bad sleep patterns. There's a lot going on developmentaly at 6 weeks so hopefully it's just a passing phase.

Sounds normal. They can change sleep patterns quickly and sleep development isn't linear. Hopefully it's just a phase.
