Hospitals error? Poor DS

DS was admitted to hospital for severe reflux. We were given a prescription… have just been to the pharmacy to collect and they won’t accept the prescription due to it not being clear of what they want.
the ward is closed till Monday, as is my GP surgery.

there are no walk in clinics near me. Is ther anything I can do? The thought of waiting till Monday (potentially Tuesday if they have to order it in) and my son being in pain is stressing me.

Did you take it to the pharmacy in the hospital? Can they not contact the ward DS was on for clarification? How can a ward be closed what happens if someone gets admitted over the weekend?

Some wards only do daycases admissions and if surgery is only planned for Monday to Friday it won't open over the weekend. It sounds as if this isn't such a ward as doesn't sound like planned surgery, but it's still possible for it not to open over the weekend, any patients who need to be admitted will just get admitted to a different ward.

OP I would have thougth the pharmacy at the hospital should be able to contact the specialty team your DS was admitted under for clarification. Otherwise I'd call 111 as already suggested.

If you're at the hospital pharmacy, they should be able to bleep the in-call paediatric team for you to sort out.
If you're not at the hospital, go back there and report to reception / a ward that is open and ask them to help you sort it.

Ah ok I see with regards the ward being closed, luckily I'm not too up on how hospitals work. I would still try the hospital pharmacy as they should be able to contact someone.
