8 month old tip toes on one side, should I be concerned?

Our 8 month old is not interested in crawling and loves to stand up and have us support him while he walks around. He sits up well unaided but isn’t showing that he wants to bum shuffle, he just asks us to stand him up so he can walk.

one thing we’ve noticed is that he’s often on tip toes on one foot, always the same foot. He doesn’t seem to be in any discomfort and sometimes I gently help him put it flat and it doesn’t bother him. He doesn’t show any preferences with his arms or hands, uses everything equally and he kicks and moves both legs well.

should I be worried or is he just figuring walking out? I was googling it and read something about hip displasia, I imagine GP and HV won’t be much help so just wanted to get some opinions first to see whether I should try to push for a specialise to take a look or am I worrying over nothing and should just wait?! Would be great to hear if others experienced the same and what happened, did it correct itself or did you get help.

thank you!

I worried about this for my son and spoke to the HV at 9months when he was cruising. They said it's common in little ones and as long as they can actually put their feet flat then it's ok. I did call again when he was 2 and they advised to speak to the GP who said they won't be concerned until he's 3! Which is ridiculous but when my son tip toes, I tell him flat feet and he does so it's not a physical thing more of a habit.

Speak to your HV.

Ok thank you that is reassuring. He does sometimes put his foot flat, it kind of seems to depend what he’s doing. Was your son an early walker?

He was crawling at 7 months and then cruising at 8 months. Didn't actually properly walk till 13 months. (did take 2 independent steps at 11 months then decided he didn't want to haha)
He's 2years 3 months now so I keep an eye.
