Help! 11 month old suddenly hates crib

DD was an amazing sleeper from about 6-10 months. Put her down drowsy but awake and she'd go to sleep and sleep through 90% of the time.

The day she turned 10 months she seemed to stop self settling at night and we'd have to go in 3 or 4 times, usually ending up with one of us with her in the day bed in her room. I was hoping this was a phase we'd get through.

Now at 11 months she won't even go down. Put her down drowsy, she screams as soon as she touches the mattress. Put her down fully sleeping, the same thing happens. Put her down on us, on the floor, on the single bed, in the pram or the car seat..... anywhere except the cot, she will sleep!

The health visitor suggested a bed rail for the single bed but I feel she's far too young for that.

Please help, I want my lovely baby back, I can't bear hearing her scream but also can't keep going on like this.

What have you got to lose trying the bed rail?

Also might be time to ditch "drowsy but awake" as it sounds like she's grown out of it - put her down completely awake and do pop-ins to check on her?

@MolliciousIntent they are not as tall as cot sides so I'm worried if she stands up and leans over it she'll flip herself out of bed!

I would agree- a bed guard isn’t suitable and could be dangerous at this age. Would a mattress on the floor/floor bed be an option?

I think there are all kinds of crazy developmental things going on at this age (my DS is also 11 months) which may be affecting her sleep. Or is she teething? Coming down with something? Sleep goes out the window here anytime there is an illness! It must be hard when you’ve previously had good sleep!
