College tutor issues

Posting for perspective! My 17yo dd is at college doing a btec course.
She has been moaning all year about one of her tutors ‘picking on her’.
Examples: her not learning how to say her name - it’s tricky to read if you don’t know it but easy to say once you’re told. She’s had all year and still won’t call her by her name!
she has now accused dd of not handing her assignment in when I have proof that she handed the original and the resubmission in.
I don’t trust her to give my dd a fair assessment mark.
I’m not sure what to do. Dd wants to deal with it herself - speak to another tutor to make a complaint. I feel that if she was at school I would be in there but not sure if I should leave her to it or step in.

She’s 17. Definitely leave her to it. You can be a listening ear for her, but please do not intervene on her behalf. The tutor would lose (any remaining) respect for her.

Do not get involved. It doesn't sound as if your DD wants you involved either tbh, she wants to deal with it herself.

I had a nightmare spanish tutor for my A levels - an incredibly nasty and vindictive woman who would flirt with the boys (really!) and put down the girls. The whole thing was horrible.
As a parent, I wouldn't get involved - it can make things a lot worse..trust me! But maybe get her to speak to the head of department? I did and he was already aware of her conduct (she was 'moved on' the year I left).
