Transitioning from travel cot to big cot

I'm trying to move my 6 month old daughter from her travel cot that is currently in my bedroom, to her nice big cot in the nursery.

She always fights naps during the day, regardless of which cot she is put in, but is much worse with the big cot. In the travel cot she usually sleeps around 45mins-2 hours, but in the big cot it is a fight to get her to sleep in the first place and will only sleep for 30 minutes if your lucky.

It's strange that she doesn't seem to like the big cot, it has a nicer mattress and she is also okay sleeping in the 40 year old cot at my parents house. She is also fine to be in it when she is wide awake...usually happily squealing and playing when in there.

I tried putting her to sleep in there last night and she slept from 7:45 until 9:45 but that is when it all broke down. She screamed and screamed and would not settle and I ended up having to put her back in the travel cot again.

Does anyone have any advice on this?

As a note: I cannot put the travel cot in her nursery - it is only a small room and there is not enough space for both cots. The big cot is very heavy and won't fit through the door without being partially dismantled. Finding a place to put it would be a problem too.

I don't really have any advice other than keep doing it. All babies tend to resist change, but they adapt quickly. I wouldn't put her in the travel cot if she's screaming (I know it's easier said than done), but after a few nights in the big cot she'll have forgotten all about sleeping in your room.

Take the travel cot down so you're not tempted, and stick it out.
