He gave his toddler a stinging slap

I don't know what the point of this thread is. Just to offload I think, I'm still feeling so sad about it hours later!

I've been at the Royal Cornwall Show today. There was a man waiting by a marquee with his toddler in a buggy (18-24 months, no older) and as I walked past he yelled at her and gave her a stinging slap. Another witness yelled and swore at him and I reported it to a couple of police officers who happened to be walking down towards us anyway. I don't know what the outcome was, they were talking to him for a good 15 minutes, during which time the child's mother rejoined them, then they left. It just made me so sad to think if he can do that on a nice sunny day out in public, how the hell does he treat her behind closed doors. Poor munchkin. I really hope the police have taken it seriously and they file a report on it, so if any other incidents come up it'll be taken seriously. Vile creature.

Oh god, that's just so awful. I can't believe some people think it's OK to beat children.
