Hi all,

We came back from Spain on the 20th May (uk based) and ever since my toddler has had diarrhoea - we've been to see the doctor and have sent off a stool sample but has anyone experienced this and found out why?

My son is fine in himself like he's playing, sleeping being his normal joyous self but every soiled nappy is diarrhoea.

I thought at first it was because maybe it was a change going from Spain back to the uk but surely that wouldn't cause it for 3 and a bit weeks?

Sorry about the TMI thread but I'm a bit worried waiting for the results and was just wondering if anyone else had been through it

Thank you

Could be secondary lactose intolerance brought on by a bout of gastroenteritis? My now 5 year old had this at 18 months but was sick every day for about a month, until she was diagnosed with the intolerance, we cut out dairy for a bit and thankfully the sickness resolved itself. Most recently my 9 month old had diarrhoea for 17 days with the same thing - cut out dairy and within a week she improved and now she’s back to normal. It was so distressing going through it not only for us but for our little one too, her stool sample also came back clear. Not saying it could be this but any concerns I’d contact your GP/HV/NHS 111 for advise. Wishing your little one well!
