I think Clarks or start rite are the standard? If you have a Clarks shop near you, go in and get measured and try on in the shop. I bought the guage online so I could buy second hand/in the sale, but nothing fit! So when I went to the store even though she measured what the guage said, she need different sizes depending on the style (nightmare!) Anyway the guy was really helpful and knew what he was talking about. I think it's important get properly fitting shoes at that age.

I'd recommend going to an independent children's shoe shop. They do proper fittings and have a range of brands.

Saying that, we did go to Clarks for first shoes (roamers) and they were fine. It's worth asking what's in the sale because I got a pair half price that weren't on display (they were end of line).

Bobux - as it was important for me to have the right type/support for shoe for his feet development. They are really really nice!
