Suddenly unsettled at nursery

DD 19 months been at nursery since 11 months, took a while to settle but since January has been loving it, seems very happy there. In the last few weeks she has been bitten 6 times by the same child. The nursery assure me they are putting measures in place to address this and I of course understand this is unfortunately common at this age and they are doing their best.

Last Thursday she came home with a bite mark which they hadn’t told me about, I called and they didn’t know anything about it but apologises. Since then she is SCREAMING every morning and they keep sending her home saying she doesn’t “seem herself” as soon as I get her home she is fine, dancing and singing about the house.

now really sure how to deal with this. Neither me nor my husband have jobs which can be done at home (healthcare) and are not flexible. I’m finding it difficult to justify coming home from work and paying for childcare when she seems absolutely fine at home with no signs at all of sickness.

Could you discuss this with the nursery manager? If the nursery is big could you ask that she is moved to a different room? If not then personally i would look at a different nursery, frustrating for you and unsettling for your child but at least that way hopefully you wont be getting regular calls about collecting your child when they are upset!
