Car accident - change Car seat base ?

Hi, DH in an accident without DS in car but car seat base was in car (we have a base in each car but one seat).
Car had all airbags deployed, crumpled at front and is write off, I know car seat should be changed if there is an accident (not needed here as not in car) but do we change the base too?
Can't find reference on manufacturers website, they just refer to seat being changed. My instinct is to change it just to be sure but wondered if that is right? Thanks

Just email the manufacturer? Or contact them via social media. With that much damage I would imagine that you would need to replace them.
Hope your dh is OK.

Yes you should replace it

I don't know for certain but I would replace. Can you look on AA or RAC? They're often good for advice.

Thanks, hadn't thought to look on aa/rac so will do that and will phone the shop tomorrow where we got it but I think we probably will replace

DH and other driver both ok and it wasn't DH fault so insurers are handling everything thankfully

Thanks everyone!

Insurance will probably cover it if it's needed so don't forget to tell them
