Boy gave DS £20 at school

Apparently this kid is 'super rich'& always flashing cash.. this time my DS (year 7) helped him in a lesson & he gave him £20 in return. My son took it, delighted! We have explained to him this is not right & told him to return it, which he now understands & will do. But should I alert the school?? Should point out this is a state school, admittedly in a pretty wealthy area.. but it's worrying 12 year olds are taking that much cash into school right?

Yes I would definitely tell the school.

Yes tell the school

I'd speak with school.

I'd worry the kid could become a target for bullies. Or that he attracts the wrong sort of friends.

Yes you should tell the school. Chances are they already aware of the issue.

Guess I don't want to be 'that parent' but it's not sitting easy with me.. apparently he gave another boy £50 for some pens?!! Even if his parents are giving him this kind of money (surely unlikely) they'd be horrified he had no idea of the value of it. He's more likely to be the bully than get bullied by all accounts too..

Yes report to the school, even if his parents are giving him that amount of cash it puts him at risk and he is being rather irresponsible with it.

Won't take long for that sort of word to get round a school and for older kids to hear about it. That's when the trouble will really begin.

I can't imagine any parents giving their kids that amount of money to just give away. He clearly has no idea of the value of it or how warped his friendships could become.
