My son turnt 2 in March and we are having major problems with him and his separation anxiety. It all started when he was 18 months old I had just had our other son in the last week of September and our oldest was due to start creche in first week of October. We sent him as scheduled and he ran on in (no parents allowed in due to covid) but 15 minutes in I got a phonecall to say he was extremely unsettled and he was, we thought its his first day this is normal, we tried again for the following week and it got to the point he wouldn't sleep, he wouldn't even go with his grandparents who he is usually running teach! each day was a nightmare I had to keep coming to get him. We had to stop him going as he was getting himself in really bad states. We don't know if this was bad timing as he had just brought a new baby home and he maybe thought he wasn't wanted anymore. However he stopped going and the separation anxiety continues to this day, he has started going with his grandparents again, but he will refuse to stay with anyone else such as his auntie if I have appointments etc. We want to start to send him back to nursery so I can return to work and we have started our 8 month old and he is settling brilliantly, but he has complete meltdowns like nothing I've seen before if he thinks we are even about to leave him with a family member apart from his grandparents. I need to get back to work but I am so anxious and don't know what to do!!
