Will preface this with that I've spoken to 111 (after 45 mins on hold) and am awaiting a call back, and the call handler didn't feel there was cause for alarm.

My 3 (nearly 4) year old either ran into a wall (?!) or fell while trying to get on a high-ish bed and hit her head on the wall. It was 2 seconds after she ran out the room - nobody saw what actually happened. No loss of consciousness or any symptoms at all apart from a massive bump on the side of her head! It raised up straight away which I've not experienced before so I've been in a panic (DH not worrying).

Anyone been through similar? It happened about 2 hours ago.

My DD did similar at 13 months. She fell and smacked her head off a door frame and it came up in a massive egg straight away. I phoned 111 and they said to take her to a&e coz she was under 18 months. They said that they would only be concerned if her behaviour changed but she was running around as normal and seemed fine.

Dozens of times... all turned out fine.

It's a good sign if the swelling is coming out, means it's unlikely to be swelling 'in'. Just keep an eye on her for any signs of concussion. 99.99% she'll be absolutely fine.
