...a carrot he picked in the garden! He has been carrying it around all afternoon then said "can we put it in a little box on the windowsill so it can watch me sleep?"

He's so cute, I love him.

Take a photo so you can always tell him that story! He sounds adorable.

Threetulips · 03/06/2022 20:33

Unless he’s 15?

Verbena87 · 03/06/2022 20:34

That is gorgeous. Mine is currently in bed with a lego model of Black Panther. I did suggest something marginally less hard and angular.

Ah thank you, I never feel like I can gush about the children in real life so people don't think I'm a bore so thought I'd post it here :).

Haha @Threetulips he's three. Might still find it cute when he's 15 though!

Great idea @LittleAvocet I'll do this later!

@Verbena87 so sweet! DS also usually sleeps with various vehicles and always wakes up with marks on his face!

one of my wee ones at that same age took a potato to bed. Adorable!! (And filmed for the future) 😬

Basilbrushgotfat · 03/06/2022 20:45

Ahhhhh :)

Happierthanever91 · 03/06/2022 20:50

Awww bless him! That is super cute

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 03/06/2022 20:51

I used to give ds frozen carrots to chew on when he was teething. He got attached to them and took them to bed. I had to change the bed carrot every few days. It did state a habit of him always eating an apple or carrot a bedtime though - he is nearly 14 and not keen on fresh fruit or veg at any other time!

FlappyCats · 03/06/2022 20:51

That's adorable, such a lovely age. 💕

Coffeesnob11 · 03/06/2022 20:57

Mine has taken a selection of interesting items including a fishslice, a mushroom (unpeeled and uncooked), a plastic trowel, a toilet roll centre and a tea towel. He fixated on something and won't let it go!

Clevs · 03/06/2022 21:06

Mine took an ice cream scoop to bed with him once 😂

MrsSkylerWhite · 03/06/2022 21:07

Beautiful.

id be even more impressed at 15 🤣

Luredbyapomegranate · 03/06/2022 21:07

How lovely.

My SS went through a stage of insisting his favourite thing of the moment (his red wellies, buzz lightyear, deflated balloon from the fair) sat on the chair next to his bed ‘so they could look at each other when they were asleep’. I was sad when he stopped.

UpToMyElbowsInDiapers · 03/06/2022 21:09

…a snail.

I wish I were joking.

A live snail from our garden, who is now a treasured family pet. He’s ended up in MY bed a couple of times too.

Lacedwithgrace · 03/06/2022 21:09

A frozen (now thawed) pea. Just the one

You must be the nicest mum ever! I'd quicker throw my kids out to sleep in the garden than have a snail in the house shudder

Regularmumnetter · 03/06/2022 21:24

Can you buy him a cuddly carrot toy?

I can send you a plush carrot if you like, we have a couple of the Lidl ones.

Dreamstosell · 03/06/2022 22:01

A half pound of butter - that didn’t end well 🤣

PinkSyCo · 03/06/2022 22:03

That is adorable. 😊

WobblyLondoner · 03/06/2022 23:38

These are lovely. My son's favourite thing for a while was a fishing rod made of an old stick with some string attached to it and a plastic teat tong (the sort you use to pick up sterilised feeding bottle teats). Grin

AlohaMolly · 03/06/2022 23:40

Oh this has just reminded me of when DS, probably around 3 too, developed a love for a red pepper and also took it to bed. He’s six now, it feels like so long ago!

Parrot17 · 04/06/2022 09:16

Ahhh, I love your stories, children are the best! I wish he would stay this little forever!
He came to our bed with his carrot when he woke up this morning and gently brushed his baby sister's hair with it.
Thank you so much @UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername that's so kind, it's actually reminded me that Im pretty sure we used to have one! I need to hunt it down!
