Best sling for newborn and other questions

I'm looking for recommendations for the best soft sling to use for a newborn in summer? Looking for something that is very easy to use (not too complex to tie and easy to get baby into) and won't be too hot for me or for her.

As a FTM I also have a couple of other questions about slings:
How soon after C-section can you use one?
How do you protect their head (and maybe arms/legs) from sunburn in summer or do you just not go outside in a sling when it's sunny? I'm only thinking of things like hanging washing outdoors or a brief trip to the shop 5 min away (i.e. times when the sling might be much more convenient than the pram but it's sunny).

Loved our Close Caboo for that stage. No complicated wrapping or tying, just over the shoulders, put baby in and tie front panel round. I had a section and think I was using from about two weeks PP but can't quite recall. I don't remember it being an issue at any point. In some ways I found it easier than the pushing motion of a pram early on.
You could just use a lightweight hat for the sun.

I have a stretchy wrap but I feel like it's going to be complicated to get on - been practising with a doll Grin the wrap I got off Amazon for £22 and the brand is Joy and Joe and came recommended. I am going to buy a mamaruga zensling which is recommended on a baby wearing group I'm in as it's just like a carrier so much easier.

Are you near any sling libraries? They let you try before you buy and help with fitting etc

I had a Hana wrap which was easy when you get the hang of it - I had advice from a sling library on tying it and positioning baby. I started at about 5 weeks post section but had a fairly decent recovery and didn't use it for long periods to start with.

DS would not tolerate a hat as a baby at all so mostly stuck to the shade and didn't take him out at peak sun times unless I had to. Did mostly use the buggy when it was hot as it seemed to keep him cooler (he was born just before a heatwave) and out of direct sunlight.

I’ve bought this one for DC2. Haven’t tried it with a baby as they haven’t arrived yet but had a practice with one of DDs teddy bears and it was quite easy to use.

Close caboo was fab for the very early days. Easy to put on and comfy. I just wouldn't go out on very sunny days I don't think, or pop a little hat on?

I didn't really get on with wraps etc either. I did borrow a close caboo from the library which was ok. This time I've got a more structured sling - a beco Gemini which is great and can be sued from 7lb. I put a hat on him and so far his arms and legs have been covered with clothes/we try to stay in the shade as much as possible.
