Newborn hats

My LG is 13 days old. It’s been around 18-22 degrees here the past few days so I was just wondering if she still has to wear a hat when out in the pram or is it too warm? Do I need to change to a sunhat or continue with a normal cotton baby hat?

I wouldn't. Figure I keep my home at that temp and wouldn't have a hat indoors

keep at home

Definitely doesn't need a hat! It's warm!

Well today I was told my baby should never wear a sun hat or sunglasses as a child, so MN is the wrong place to ask 😂

Too for a hat for warmth, but a sun hat to protect their eyes etc and not get sunburnt is acceptable.

No they shouldn't be wearing a hat but get a pram parasol or buggy shade cover so they aren't in direct sun light and don't over heat.

You see people using blankets or muslins to shade prams and buggies but the baby can overheat if it gets hotter than now.

Oh and I was told off for using a hat on my DD ever after a week as she would over heat.

My DD, now 3, has loved wearing hats since she was about 7 months regardless of the weather. She makes up funny reasons why she needs to wear a hat when out 🤣
