Baby in pain :(

My baby is 25 days old. She hasnt slept much tonight and today. She maybe slept 5-6 hours in total in the past 18 hours. Apart from these hours she is always on the breast. If she falls asleep and I put her down she wakes up. She looks like she is in pain especially when she is breastfeeding she pulls her legs up and cries and then goes back to the breast. She is in pain and I think this might be the reason she wants to stay on the breast for so long... i am not sure what is wrong but I dont want to see her in pain😞

Sounds like gas to me, are you winding thoroughly?

Also v normal to not want to be put down to sleep - Google 4th trimester - so I'd stop bothering trying that for now. She's getting about a 3rd of the amount of sleep that she needs a day, so will be desperately overtired, which will be causing a lot of the crying.

But she wont sleep on me either. I leave her on me and she wakes up in 2 minutes

Have you tried massaging her tummy and doing bicycle legs if it is wind? Do you have a sling you can put her in and you can go about your day?
Sleep breeds sleep so the more knee tired she gets the less she will sleep. You just need to try and break the cycle and get her to have a good sleep (easier said than done). How do you lie her for sleeping on you? Has she been fed when you do it? Could she be a bit refluxy?

Sounds like colic.
Have you spoken to your HV or MW? infacol and something else beginning with D worked for my DD13 now so was ages ago.
If it is colic it does go. She didn't sleep more than 4 hours for 3 months then it went and she literally was a dream

Oh god, what happened? I hope you're all ok.

She suddenly started crying non stop! I got so scared. I wish I would have the pain not her :(

Have you looked at the wonder weeks app at all? That can often explain extra fussy behaviour, if the doctors rule out physical causes.

TheLovleyChebbyMcGee · 01/06/2022 21:08

I hope you are all ok, with tiny babies it's so difficult to work out what is wrong with them. I hope nothing serious Xx

MolliciousIntent · 01/06/2022 21:53

Thinking of you op, hope you're getting on ok

HalfShrunkMoreToGo · 01/06/2022 22:08

Hopefully everything will be OK OP.

It does sound like wind, DD would get this and bicycling her legs, rubbing her belly in a circular clockwise motion or trying different winding positions, particularly the Tiger in tree hold worked well to help relieve it.

ebbyniko1108 · 01/06/2022 22:17

Hey everyone we have just seen the doctors and the doctor has examined her and said its most likely colic and that she probably has got wind and that we need to wind her well after a feet. She said to carry on infacol... everything else looked very well

Good your minds at rest - it will be hard for a bit but honestly it goes soon enough
