Newborn - issues passing gas

Hi all, so my newborn (4 weeks and mix BF and FF) has issues passing gas. He usually squirms, goes red and arches his back whilst sleeping.

Any tips on how to relieve this, so upsetting to see him uncomfortable. We've tried bicycle legs and burping after a feed but it doesn't really do much. Completely lost at how to make him feel better :(

I found massaging their tummy with a little organic olive oil worked…I followed this video (I know it’s for constipation but assume it would help for gas too!)

Infacol before every feed worked wonders for mine

Avol and gripe water helped us. Also, tummy time and warm bath.

My LO had terrible gas pains. We tried everything. They really just need to outgrow it and now he's much much better with gas.

Thanks everyone, massaging doesnt seem to help much so we've started on the infacol. Fingers crossed

Another vote for the tiger in the tree hold. Someone showed it to me when my DS was about 6 weeks and it was a game changer - it was really soothing for his tummy.
