So DS is almost 7 months and we have one of those door bouncers that we put him in for the odd 5 minutes here and there... although he gets super cranky if we take him out.
Often in the day he will get cranky and look it grumbling so I stand him on my lap and he just starts bouncing, nothing else I do will calm him down and thats all he wants to do almost all day!
I don't want to be putting him in the bouncer too much as I read it isn't great on their development but he loves it so much and wants to be in there all the time! No distractions seem to work unless I take him out and about but that gets exhausting and feel like I can't rely on that on a wet day.
He's on 7 months but not sure if he is on the spectrum as it runs in mine and DH family and maybe the bouncer has become a sort of stim?
