4 month old really unsettles

I have a 4 (nearly 5)m/o DS who has got increasingly more unsettled over the last week or so. Hes almost literally halved his feeds and is going alot longer than I would like (up to 6 hours) and then only having about 3-5 oz when he was having around 7/8 oz every four hours or so. His nappies have completely changed as well to very yellowy diarrhoea when before they were thick dark green (he has cmpa so this is normal with his prescribed milk). I was that worried about him over the weekend I took him to a&e who said it’s just a bug and to ride it out. Today he’s been awake since 5:20 and only had 5 ounces of formula and although I changed a dirty nappy this morning after his feed I haven’t had to do so since. He’s also sleeping quite a lot more as well. Is this normal for a bug? I can’t remember my other DS being like this at all at this age! Should I contact the GP and try to get him seen again or give it another 24 hours and see how he goes? I can’t see the woods for the trees as to how to help him at the moment and don’t want to bother them unnecessarily if someone can think of something I haven’t thought of yet. I’ve been giving some anbesol to help with teething pain and some calpol but only once or twice a day when he’s really been upset and seemed like he was in pain.

Apologies for any typos there may be - I’m crying with frustration while typing this, feeling like a really bad mum because I can’t work out how to help him!

What formula has he been prescribed? I only ask as my little boy is on nutramigen but has currently been prescribed neocate as his symptoms started to come back 3 weeks later! Please don't feel like a bad mum! My 5 week old does nothing but scream when he is awake... it's so hard, I know exactly how your feeling :(

He’s on SMA Althera and has been since he was about 8 weeks old. He’s been doing really well on it until the last week or so which is another reason I’m at such a loss. It does remind me of how he was before he was prescribed milk so could it have turned into a lactose intolerance now? Hope your little one starts feeling better soon!

Hmmm mine is 4months and has had diarrhea for the last two weeks in darker orange shade. He's acting normal so I havent been too worried, but still why has it been going on for two weeks.

Could be due to teething maybe?

You're lucky yours sleeps longer!! Mine sleeps the same. But at least it's not worse like everyone keeps saying due to the 4mos regression lol
