Still not right 55 hours after 8 week jabs

DS had 8 week jabs on Friday. Friday evening he was sleepy & cried a lot more.

Saturday day time he was fine. Saturday evening he woke from a nap and was inconsolable for 2 hours. We managed the night, where he slept for 4 hours - woke for feed - slept for 4 hours - woke for a feed, and since then has not settled for another sleep. he’s not inconsolable just very whiny.

do you think this is due to the 8 week jabs still? When will he feel better.

Give him another 24 hours.

I must also add he was premature.. so currently 2 weeks corrected age so was told no more Calpol after 3 doses on Friday.
he does not have a temp

Honestly my boy was cranky for 2 weeks after his jabs.

As long as he doesn't have a fever just roll with it.

So did they adjust the time of the jabs for his premature age?

You don’t need to adjust the timing of the jabs for prem babies

TheCluelessMum · 29/05/2022 16:24

@getoutofheree nope, still had them at 8 weeks from birth. But can’t give them Calpol until 8 weeks corrected

My LO was the same after his 8 and 12 weeks jabs but to be honest I think it was the oral drops for rotavirus more than anything. He just seemed to have a bad belly for almost a week and really didn't want to feed. He's just had his 4 month jabs (no rotavirus drops this time) and he's bounced back within 24 hours. Do you think it could be a bad belly?

I vaccinate babies.
You don't need to adjust the regime for calpol, only the dose if they are less than 4kg.
We advise you can continue calpol at the correct intervals (and dose obviously) for up to 48 hours post vaccines, then seek advice if still concerned. Prem or not.
