Concerns about my little one

Some concerns about my 6.5 month old

My almost 7 month old daughter is a very happy smiley baby however I do have some concerns about her that I would love some input on from other experienced mums out there as I don’t have any family in the same country for support and opinions. Also want to add that I am a first time mum and have not been around babies much.

What she does:

•	Babbles (dada mama gaga etc) blows raspberries squels LOUD
•	Smiles, laughs out loud, giggles when playing or singing to her
•	Loves attention especially when playing with toys or in bouncer etc
•	Rolls from back to tummy but hasn’t really mastered rolling back
•	Sits unassisted since 5.5 months
•	Doesn’t let strangers hold her and wants mum or dad
•	seems extremely interested of her surroundings and people
•	Loves food and always has
•	Sleeps and naps well
•	Answer to her name 50% of the time
•	Drinks from her sippy cup by her self since 6 months and enjoys feeding herself finger foods
•	Loves to stand up and will hold herself up for a few seconds holding onto something
•	Super alert to new voices and sounds and will turn her head and being interested of what’s going on
•	Follows and tracks objects excellent
•	Is interested in kids especially older kids
•	Loves swimming and bath time and splashes like crazy

My concerns:

•	doesnt like eye contact when being close to her face or holding her and will turn her cheek which makes me extremely worried and sad but will have great eye contact from distance for example in her bouncer, in the bath or on the sofa next to me
•	Doesn’t really like laying on me or cuddles unless very very tired which makes me very sad and hurt
•	Doesn’t like looking me in the eyes while drinking bottle but will look at me in my eyes when feeding her solids at times
•	When I leave her and dad for a while to go out she doesn’t really seem super happy to see me when coming back (sometimes if in really good mood)
•	Doesn’t really reach out arms when I come to pick her up, kind of just reaches for my hands and looks at them but do get happy when I pick her up
•	Flaps arms and hands when angry or super excited like when watching her favourite program
•	doesn’t really copy us doing faces or sounds
•	HATES tummy time and doesn’t seem interested in crawling at all
•	In general don’t feel like I’m very needed

Your baby sounds delightfully normal, attached and secure.

With kindness, you sound very needy.

Genuinely came here for this reason. I appreciate the feedback. I have no clue about how babies should be and just assuming things sometimes, and google doesnt help at all. I'll work on my neediness 😃

I wanted to update anyone that comes across this post and being in the same situation like myself... looking back I was most definitely suffering from PPD and severe anxiety on top of being a FTM and practically just have husband in this country.

Today she is just 9 months old and I have NO CONCERNS... she is so lovely so perfect and she is progressing just how she should. Her eye contact is now amazing and I think this was something to do with her eyesight being not fully developed yet being up close. Anyhow I wanted to share with other mums that might suffer from anxiety, please talk to someone and get reassurance that all is fine and then trust that and then go and work on your anxiety. Life is so precious and our little ones are growing up so fast and remember they all develop in their own rate on their own terms.

I also wanted to thank the mums on here taking their time to give me feedback.

Stay Bless!
