So dd is 8 months nearly 9 months and for months and months now she has been like this but she won’t settle for anyone else but me , to the point I’ve had to start co sleeping as she won’t even go in her cot anymore, I’m worried as I’m meant to be staring a job soon and I’m also going out it for a friends birthday next weekend so I’ll leaving her at her grandparents house overnight , this is first time I’ve left her overnight in months but I’m worried she’s not gonna settle at all but I’ve not got much choice if I’m starting work soon

My little one is the same age and still gets upset with other people. Familiarity is what has worked well. She is great with my mum and dad as she sees them often but it took time to build up to leaving her with them. I read somewhere that babies need to see you trusting the adult to help them trust too so I would try and make sure she saw me hugging my mum and dad then give her 10mins or so to adjust before handing her over. She starts nursery in a few weeks but is visiting the nursery every day for the week before she actually starts. I really feel confident this will work for her as she’ll be familiar with the staff there. She’s really happy to go off around the pool with her swimming instructor just because we’ve seen her one a week for 8 weeks now.

Could she see her grandparents a few times this week before staying the night?

good luck
