My just 2 year old has always needed less sleep than he’s ‘meant’ to have. Sleep has always been a challenge for us however we’ve had some intermittent improvements recently.
As a general rule he’d sleep anyway between 8-10 hours at night (with 2-3 wake ups) and 1-1.5 hour nap in the day. However recently he’s been sleeping more towards the 10 hours at night (still waking) and he’s napping more like 1.5-2 hours in the day.
He’s absolutely fine in himself, running about full of energy, eating and drinking normally. Bedtime takes quite a while so it’s not like he’s just falling to sleep anywhere it’s just once he is asleep he seems to be sleeping more. Is this him just learning how to consolidate sleep?
I’m seeing my HV tomorrow so will mention it to her but just wanted to know if anyone else with ‘bad’ sleeper saw total sleep time increase as they got older.
