Is the is some kinda of an allergy? Advice?

I know no one here is a doctor and can’t tell from the pictures what’s wrong exactly but maybe someone has been in a similar situation.
Me and my DS are visiting my mum who lives abroad. He’s just over 15 months and don’t have any known allergies or any sort of problems with food since we started weaning.

However yesterday I noticed some spots on him. It’s mostly on legs, feet, upper arms and a bit on his hands. Nothing on back or stomach.
They don’t seem to be itchy because he’s not scratching them and they don’t seem to cause him any discomfort at all. Did some Googling and they seem to look like food allergy or something. So far they are not getting worse or seem to spread further.
We’ve been here almost 2 weeks and he’s been eating the same foods that he likes at home - dairy products, fruits, rice cakes, meat etc.

Also - 2 days ago he caught some slight cold and been coughing a bit so we bought some nose saline spray and cough syrup for kids with the advice of the pharmacist. And on the second day of using the syrup I noticed the small spots.
Could they really be from the medicine? Anyone had something similar? I really don’t think it’s any food because he didn’t have anything new to eat and if it would be for example a banana or egg allergy they would probably show up earlier than 15 months. Obviously I will stop the cough syrup to see if that’s the one.
Thanks.

Heat rash?

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 24/05/2022 10:52

Food allergy doesn't come up the first time you eat it, ds was able to eat nuts at first..until he wasn't, so don't discount food.

Could be a viral rash as he's been a bit unwell.

Have you tried giving him Piriton ,that might help?

I don’t know about hear rash cause we are not in particularly hot country, I guess it’s similar to UK at the moment and from what I’ve read the heat rash seems to be itchy but my LO doesn’t even notice them.
And I didn’t give him anything at the moment. We decided just to stop the cough syrup as it was my suspicion and just wait and see how it goes, if they spread more or slowly disappear

I'd also say heat rash. I suffer really badly from it - allergy tablets are recommended (and do help)

Just an update :
It was probably some kind of an allergy because the spots were visible reduced the next day we stopped the cough syrup and now they are completely gone.
An advice from family’s friend who is a doctor suggested the same - it’s full of sugars so probably he reacted this way.
