Advice and personal recommendations on a breast pump

Hi,

I'm due my first baby soon and hope to be exclusively breast feeding but after 6 weeks I'll be returning to work for one day a week in which my husband will have to bottle feed (my expressed breast milk if poss!)
I've done a lot of research into combi feeding but am stuck on what breast pump to get. I'd prefer an electric one as I won't have much time at work to do it, or much privacy (I'm a nurse), so something that works quickly and doesn't cost the earth would be ideal!

Any recommendations?

I really like my Lykke and Lola one. It's cordless, quiet and quick. If money was no object I would have got an Elvie which you can wear in your bra and is apparently very discreet. They are £££ though!

I've found it to be pretty good. It's quick, easy to use and very effective. Plus good value. I know others who have spent £££ on pumps but this one does the job for me.

I used a medela swing with my three babies and it was great

I have used the BellaBaby double pump for both my little ones and have been so impressed considering the price!

I have the Lykke and Lola one too, for exactly the same reasons as florian. So far I really rate it, very fast and discreet. Plus, my other bottles fit on the pump and it's possible to pump directly to their storage bags.

I used the medela swing which was good but spent sometime in hospital and used the hospital grade Medela symphony which was way better! You can rent them from our local hospital, not sure if that's the same elsewhere!

As PP had said, if money was no object I'd get something like the Elvie so you can pump on the go and get on with things rather than being tied to a pump so to speak.

I couldn’t express a drop despite EBF to gone 2 but I liked the Lansinoh for ease of use.
I tried various pumps, but it wasn’t the pumps fault lol.

Do any of you remember how long you had to express for? I guess the most important factor for me is how quickly I can get it done - and yes, the Elvie is way out of my price range!!!!!

I exclusively expressed for about 6 months. I had the medela swing maxi flex as my usual but if I needed something a bit more portable, I had the cozytots hands free pump which I loved. Much cheaper than elvie and did the job perfectly. I used to double pump for about 20 mins at a time
