Best sling for around the house?

I'm pregnant with my first baby so not sure what's out there. My husband has his eye on an ergobaby for walks, but I think for just wearing baby around the house this is a bit much, lots of clips and a bit bulky?

But at the same time I don't trust the ones that are just fabric you tie, I feel like I would do it wrong and it would be too loose. Is there something in between? Something I can fasten on but that's not as bulky as the ergobaby?

There are lots of different slings available. My health visitor recommended a local sling "library" where you can rent/trial different kinds; when you get your visit be sure to ask her about it and she can tell you what is available locally.

I bought 2 slings; a long fabric one for the newborn stage and a more sturdy clippy one when baby got bigger

I loved Close Caboo for the early months. No complicated tying or wrapping, just over shoulders, pop baby in and tie panel around front. I used it loads with DD and will use it again when DC2 arrives next month.

Ergobaby is really good when you need to move onto something with a bit more structure.

I will second the close caboo, my daughter practically lived in it for 6 months!

I tried caboo with my first as I was scared of what I thought were the complicated magic tying slings...but I never felt 100% comfy that she was secure. Went to a sling library and got taught how to do a basic tie with a Hana wrap with my second and it was a game changer. So comfy for her and for me as you can adjust it to perfect fit for you both. Stretchy wraps are comfiest for the baby for the first few months and easy around the house. Clippy ones are for when they get bigger really as much less adjustable. I love an ergo for 4 months plus :)

I'll third the Close Caboo recommendation - used it loads with DS1 and five week old Ds2 spent about eight hours in it today on and off! So easy to put on, and my much taller husband can use it without needing to do lots of adjustments too.

You need to just try them out. Eg everyone says close caboo but I hate it. I wear my Tula explore (basically an ergobaby) around the house every day (6week old) and love it as truly hands free, and not bulky at all. Stretchy wrap/caboo/ring sling I always feel like I have to support the head.

(Third baby by the way so I haven’t just formed that opinion in the last 6 weeks 😄)
