4 year old age and stage?

Hi there

I am having real trouble with my 4 year old son and don't know if it's age and stage, or possibly ADHD from what I have been researching. He never listens, he does not sit still, he is loud when he talks, he cannot focus, he struggles to do simple tasks, such as dress himself because he is so distracted. He is overly sensitive to his emotions as well as external factors such as noise etc. He's a lovely, kind, smart little boy and we just don't know if it's a stage, or a lacking in our parenting skills or something else. We just feel so guilty all the time because everything turns into a battle.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated x

Loud when he talks? Try getting his hearing tested.

Does he attend nursery? Is he the same there?

Yes, when he talks. I have thought about getting his hearing tested. I'll arrange that tomorrow. He is at nursery and they have said he's a bit sensitive if it gets too chaotic in the room, but otherwise I think he's ok there, he's ok if he has a focus, like art.
