And how old?

Struggling hugely with bedtime just now.

Around 10pm for my 13 month old. When he was 8 months old he went through a phase of going to bed at 2am. He usually wakes around 8am and he sometimes takes the odd catnap during the day.

DS, 5.5 - bath/wash at 7pm, books until 7:30-745 - sleep by 8pm. Normally wakes between 6-7am and comes through to my bed some point during the night.

Naps 12-2 usually, wakes around 630-7, as a generalisation.

It is destroying me 😑

By that age, DS was having an hour nap max and bedtime was a ridiculous affair that had me in the state you were. He didn't nap much at all after he turned 2 (had to tell nursery to not even let him doze off as it had such a knock on effect on the quality of our evening).

Yes, he got tired later in the day but it was better for all of us.

Now, aged almost 5, he goes up at 7, bath/ shower/ arse about, read together then by himself, lights off at 8. Usually asleep within 20 min or so.

Then mostly nothing til I have to pretty much shake him to wake him from the sleep of the dead at 7:15 for school (either because I am then leaving for work and I like to see him first) or because he is such a faffer that we need the hour to actually get him to eat, get dressed (yes that order to avoid yoghurt down uniform etc) and then, by his preference, have a bit of a play.

Sometimes he has a bad dream, or wets through the nappy pants (no sign of them being done with any time soon but honestly, fine with that) and then comes into the spare room with me, but he just turns over, goes to sleep and not a peep from him, usually. I don't very often get punched by accident. DH is also acceptable at night these days (and sometimes gets called for rather than me, which is bliss)

14 month old asleep at 6 and my 27 month 7. They’re both early risers though.

1 and 3yrs - between 6.45pm and 7.15pm

Age 5 and 3, by 7pm for both weeknights. No naps and very active days so fall asleep pretty much immediately

At 18 months, it was closer to 8.30pm for both but used to have a long lunchtime nap

DS 5,is bed ,books and sleep by 7. He's a nightmare otherwise!

We have had the same routine since he started sleeping through the night, (18 blinking months!he dropped naps then too.)

Hes up by 6:30/ 7 no matter if he has a late night or not.

I think if they are in school they need to go at a time they won't be tired the next day, then with an hour extra on weekends? Only you will know what time that is.

Mine goes at 8:30pm and is six, then wakes at around 9am - 9.30am and this is just what comes naturally to her.
