Stick or twist (3rd baby?)

Yes I know another thread on third baby.

life feels pretty good right now. We are financially stable, have two healthy daughters (almost 4 & 6.5). Two small dogs. A modest 3 bed home.
i can’t help but feel very broody.
i am 31, husband is 39. We always wanted kids and I always imagined having 4 (pre kids!).
we both feel a bit on the fence. We think having another would be “selfish” for many reasons but equally we do wonder…and love the idea of a large family once past the chaos on babies/toddlers…

has anyone decided to actually try for a 3rd? With similar age gaps to us?

ive been agonising about this for years. i am getting on with work and can see a good future with that, I know another baby would set me back years because my husband works 11-12hr days. With 3 I couldn’t fit in work.

Anyone? I’m still pondering over it!

I had a ‘3rd’ with bigger age gaps. I’ve just gone back to work as she turned 5. (Tried at 2yo but got laid off at the start of Covid).

H worked away for 3 of those years so it was a blessing not to work. WFH now and can fit in all the after school stuff with my hours. I’d work shorter hours if I had to go into the office to manage it all.

Forgot to say, I’m much older than you and during the years I was at home I completed a BA. Relevant to my job and went back to work with no loss of pay or the need to start lower than I left etc

Wow, well done you! What made you decide? Did you agonise over it or was it an easy decision to go for no.3?
how do you find it with the larger gaps?
