Please help - car seat issue

Hi all, I have the Joie i-spin safe car seat, which I bought based on the excellent safety reviews on Which?

My baby is 8 months old and whenever she sleeps in the car seat, her head slumps forward. I always sit in the back with her so it’s not been as issue. However, I’m now going to be putting the car seat in my car and will be driving, so will have no one in the back with her for regular journeys. I’ve got it on the most reclined setting and it still happens, I’ve also taken the newborn insert out as she’s too big for that now.

Does anyone know what age head slump stops being dangerous?

I’m considering buying a new seat. I’ve seen a few lie back ones but they are only going to last until she’s around 12-15 months old, so will only have a few months use out of them.

Can anyone recommend a seat that reclines where the head slump doesn’t occur? And will last us a bit longer than 12–15 months of age?

TIA x

I don't know the answer re safety. What does it say on car seat safety UK? I have this seat. Try pulling her bottom as forward as possible towards the buckle so she's more naturally reclined before she falls asleep in the recline position. My baby hasn't slumped in the reclined position since. I do regularly pull over to put her in the recline position if she's been sat upright playing and falls asleep so you can always stop to adjust her.

I think all combination stage 0/1 (birth to 4 year) seats have this issue. We have it with our Maxi Cosi Mica and we had this problem with our older daughter's Britax Dualfix. I much prefer the baby carrier style seat we have in the other car for the baby stage.
